*YOU NEED A HELPER*
*1 Kings 1:1-2 – Now King David was old, advanced in years; and they put covers on him, but he could not get warm. Therefore his servants said to him, “Let a young woman, a virgin, be sought for our lord the king, and let her stand before the king, and let her care for him; and let her lie in your bosom, that our lord the king may be warm.”*

*MESSAGE*
In today’s scripture, we see King David, now old and weak, unable to keep himself warm. His servants suggested finding someone to care for him, emphasizing the importance of having someone by his side in his time of need. This story shows us that no one is meant to go through life alone; we all need help at one point or another.

When God created man, He said in *Genesis 2:18, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”* God’s design from the beginning was for us to have companions—people to support, care for, and walk with us through life.

Throughout the Bible, we see how God placed helpers in people’s lives. Moses had Aaron and Hur to hold up his hands during the battle (Exodus 17:12). Ruth supported Naomi in her time of loss (Ruth 1:16-17). Even Jesus sent out His disciples in pairs for strength and encouragement (Mark 6:7).

Beloved, we cannot do everything on our own. Whether it’s in marriage, friendships, family, or community, God brings people into our lives to be helpers and supporters. Be open to receiving help when you need it, and also be willing to help others. Life is better when we walk together, lifting one another up in love.
May the Lord bless you with the understanding of His word today in Jesus Name.
