*PUT YOUR CONFIDENCE IN GOD*
*2 Samuel 24:1-2 – “And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah. For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.”*

*MESSAGE:*
David’s decision to count the people of Israel may seem harmless, but his motive revealed a lack of trust in God. By numbering the people, David appeared to be relying on the size of his army rather than on God’s power to deliver him in battle. This action displeased God because it reflected pride and misplaced confidence.

This story teaches us to always examine our motives before making decisions. God is not pleased when we act out of pride, fear, or a desire to control situations instead of trusting Him. *Psalm 118:8-9 says “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.”*

Dearly beloved, before taking any action, ask yourself why you are doing it. Are you relying on God or trying to prove something to others? Let your motives always align with God’s will and reflect humility and trust in His provision. When you trust Him fully, He will guide your steps and provide for all your needs. May the Lord give you the understanding of His word today in Jesus Name. Remain blessed and stay safe.
