*THE POWER OF SACRIFICE*
*2 Samuel 24:25 – And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.*
*MESSAGE*
In today’s scripture, David built an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. God accepted his sacrifice, answered his prayers, and stopped the plague that was destroying the land. This shows that a sincere sacrifice can move God to show mercy and bring healing.
The Bible gives other examples of the power of sacrifice. In Genesis 22, Abraham was ready to offer his son Isaac as God commanded. Even though it was hard, Abraham obeyed, and God provided a ram to replace Isaac. Because of this, God blessed Abraham greatly. The greatest example of sacrifice is Jesus Christ. He gave His life on the cross so we could be saved from sin and have eternal life. His sacrifice brought us forgiveness and a chance to be close to God.
Our service to God must be sacrificial. We don’t make sacrifices only when it is convenient, our service to Him must go with a price. *Psalm 50:5 says “Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”*
Beloved, everything about God requires sacrifice. If you are not ready to make sacrifices for the work of God, then you are not fit to be part of the end time soldiers of the Lord. Are you willing to give God your time, resources, talent etc? Every good relationship requires giving, and our relationship with God is no different. Your sacrifice, no matter how small, can bring blessings, healing, and closeness to God. Trust in the power of sacrifice, and watch how God works in your life!
May the Lord bless and also give you the understanding of His word today in Jesus Name.
